Extracurricular Jobs and Volunteering

The Children’s Center

  • Starting in high school I began to work here once a month to get community service hours. I finished my hours freshmen year, but I kept going till my senior year. I missed going my first two years of college because of my work load but I am excited because I have started to go back.
  • The Children’s Center is a school for children with special needs. Once a month they have “respite night” which is a day care for the children on weekends that the parents can leave their children and go out an have a relaxing day. The daycare is open to not only the children who need the special care but to their siblings too so they can have fun.
The San Pedro Center

  • This is a summer Christian youth camp In Winter Park Florida. I began going here as a child when I was 8 years old. It became my goal to become a consoler there. I finally did in the summer of 2007. The job taught me how to lead and communicate with the other employees because the logistics of keeping 100 kids entertained for a week is astounding. Even between summers I volunteer there and help out with programs for middle and high school children
